We got the assignment to make the execution and management of the renovation works of a commercial premise in Carrer del Notariat, in old town of Barcelona for the knives brand, Florentine Kitchen Knives.

The project divides the space in two parts. The left half is destinated to the knives manufacturing. This part is divided in smaller glass boxes, each box meant for each step of the production process. The right half, is the selling and showroom area, where the visitor can see and purchase the knives. This selling half, is organized by a central counter island, where the product is stored.

The renovation tries to make the best of the original features of the space, like forged columns or vaulted ceilings. All the interior partitions are glass made, in order to be able to watch the manufacturing process, as well as, keeping the size of the room. The result is a clean, singular and diaphanous space, a functional work/shop where the company can produce and sell its product, like in an old craftsman shop.
